With only three weeks to go until the 2015 KDM Cookstown 100 roars into life, the organizing club have left no stone unturned to bring you a truly International entry for the opening National road race of the 2015 season.
With a record 200 entries, 59 of which are newcomers!, the line up includes TYCO BMWs Guy Martin & William Dunlop, Milwaukee Yamahas Michael Dunlop, Mar-Trains Dean Harrison, B.E.Racings Jamie Hamilton, Wilson Craigs new signing Derek McGee, Bike BitsNI recruit, Derek Sheils, Penz13.com BMWs Stephen Thompson and MJRs Michael Sweeney.
Speaking at the Launch of this years KDM Cookstown 100, Mar Trains Dean Harrison said, “ Despite all the testing Ive done over the past few weeks, the real test comes when we get out on the actual road circuit.”
Jamie Hamilton, now riding for John Burrows B.E.Racing team, is brimming with confidence, following testing, the Ballyclare rider feels he is in better shape , both mentally and physically, than he was this time last year!” John has the bikes pretty well set up, we hadn’t to do much to the bikes during testing, and I was on the pace straight away, Everyone wants to win, but I feel confident, that I can try for a win, or two!”
Having travelled all the way from Mullingar for the Press Launch, Derek McGee is quietly confident of success, Derek scored three podiums last year, and now on board the Wilson Craig Hondas, Derek will be looking to open his Cookstown 100 account.
Amongst the star studded entry list, are, James Cowton, Alan Bonner, Andy Lawson, Davy Morgan, James Neesom, Conor Behan and Brian McCormack.
With a record entry , it has put even more pressure on the club, Friday will see21 practice sessions, and Clerk of the Course, Francis Everard, has promised, if everything is going to plan, he will try and add in more practice where possible.
There will be four races on Friday evening, and 15 on Saturday.
International riders entered for the KDM Cookstown 100 include, Sandor Bitter, Michael Hoffman, David Ansaldi, Dario Cecconi ,Eric Goedhart, Michael Dukopil and Veronika Hancokvy.
Maria Costello MBE leads the female brigade, along with Veronika Hancokvy,Melissa Kennedy, Yvonne Montgomery and Sarah Boyes, who will race against her Father, in the 125 class at the KDM Cookstown 100.
Club Chariman, Kenny Loughrin opened the Press Launch, and Paid Homage to the late Milton Thom, who passed away late last year, Milton was a former president of the Cub, and also a long time sponsor to the event. A minutes silence was held as a mark of respect to Mr Thom.

Thursday April 23rd – Classic Bike Run, Union Street Car Park, leaving 7.30pm
Friday April 24th – PRACTICE DAY, Roads Close 11am
Saturday April 25th – RACE DAY, Roads Close 10am
